BalanceBeacon Privacy Policy

Elytron Consulting LLC (“Elytron,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the BalanceBeacon mobile application (“BalanceBeacon” or the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App or contact us.

1. Privacy at a glance

BalanceBeacon is designed as a local-first financial-planning tool. Financial information you enter or import is stored and processed on your device.

2. Financial information entered into BalanceBeacon

You may enter information such as:

• Checking and savings balances.
• Income and paycheck information.
• Bills and scheduled expenses.
• Debt balances and payment information.
• Savings goals.
• Planned purchases.
• Transaction confirmation dates.
• Forecast and reminder preferences.

BalanceBeacon processes this information locally on your device to calculate projected balances, potential shortfalls, debt-payment paths, and purchase guidance.

Elytron does not receive or upload this financial-planning information.

3. Excel workbook imports

If you use the Import from Excel feature, you select an .xlsx file through your device’s file picker.

BalanceBeacon reads and processes the selected workbook on your device. The workbook and the financial information imported from it are not uploaded to Elytron.

The original workbook remains under the control of the file location or storage provider from which you selected it.

4. Device authentication

If you enable device security, BalanceBeacon asks your operating system to authenticate you using an available PIN, password, fingerprint, facial-recognition method, or other supported credential.

BalanceBeacon receives only the authentication result. Elytron does not receive or store your biometric templates, PIN, or device password.

5. Notifications

If you enable reminders, BalanceBeacon stores your selected reminder time and schedules local notifications on your device.

Reminder content is generated locally and is not sent through an Elytron notification server. You may disable reminders in the App or change notification permissions through your device settings.

6. Subscriptions and app-store purchases

Apple App Store or Google Play processes subscription purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.

BalanceBeacon receives limited purchase information needed to provide paid features, which may include:

• The subscription product identifier.
• Purchase status.
• Renewal or entitlement status.
• Information indicating whether a purchase was restored.

The current version of BalanceBeacon does not send purchase receipts or purchase tokens to an Elytron server. Apple and Google may provide Elytron with aggregated or transaction-level sales and subscription reports through their developer services.

Elytron does not receive your complete payment-card information from BalanceBeacon.

7. Support communications

If you contact us, we may receive the contact information, message content, and attachments you choose to provide.

We may use this information to:

• Respond to your request.
• Troubleshoot technical problems.
• Improve or protect BalanceBeacon.
• Resolve disputes.
• Maintain appropriate business records.
• Comply with legal obligations.

8. Information BalanceBeacon does not collect

BalanceBeacon does not collect through the App:

• Bank login credentials.
• Precise location.
• Contacts or address-book information.
• Browsing history.
• Advertising identifiers.
• Complete payment-card information.
• Financial-planning entries stored locally in the App.
• Biometric templates, device PINs, or device passwords.

Your operating-system provider and app store may independently collect technical, diagnostic, purchase, or usage information under their own privacy policies.

9. How information is used and shared

Information stored locally in BalanceBeacon is used on your device to operate the App’s features.

Elytron does not sell or rent personal information.

We may disclose information that we actually possess:

• When required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
• When reasonably necessary to protect rights, property, security, or safety.
• To service providers assisting with support or business operations, provided they are required to protect the information.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

Apple and Google independently process purchase information under their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Storage, retention, and deletion

Financial-planning information remains on your device until you:

• Edit or delete the information.
• Use Delete all local data.
• Clear BalanceBeacon’s application storage.
• Uninstall the App.
• Reset or erase your device.

BalanceBeacon currently does not provide an Elytron cloud account, cloud synchronization service, or account-based backup and recovery service.

Uninstalling BalanceBeacon, clearing its storage, resetting or losing your device, or experiencing device failure may permanently erase your local information.

Because Elytron does not receive your locally stored financial-planning information, we cannot retrieve or delete that information for you.

Apple and Google retain purchase records according to their policies and legal obligations. We retain support communications only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and legitimate business-record purposes.

11. Security

We reduce privacy risk by limiting the information transmitted by BalanceBeacon.

The App relies on operating-system application isolation and optional device authentication to help protect locally stored information.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining a secure device lock.
• Controlling access to your device.
• Protecting device backups.
• Keeping original financial records and workbooks when needed.

No storage or security method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Your choices and privacy rights

You may:

• View and edit financial information inside BalanceBeacon.
• Disable reminders.
• Change the optional security setting.
• Delete your local financial information.
• Clear the App’s storage.
• Uninstall the App.
• Manage your subscription through the app-store account used for purchase.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights concerning personal information Elytron possesses, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of that information.

Because Elytron does not receive your device-only financial-planning information, privacy requests cannot be used to recover or remotely delete that information.

13. Children’s privacy

BalanceBeacon is not directed to children under 13, and Elytron does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

A person who is not old enough to consent under the laws where they live may use BalanceBeacon only with authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

14. International use

BalanceBeacon is operated from the United States.

If you contact us from another country, information contained in your communication may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as BalanceBeacon, our practices, or legal requirements change.

We will revise the Effective Date and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
